Accounts Team Leader

Location: Cumbria
Salary: £40,000 – £44,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Team Leader to join a well-established international manufacturing business.

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will take responsibility for leading the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management functions, whilst supporting the production of management accounts and cash flow forecasting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a varied leadership role within a successful and growing organisation.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team.
  • Managing workloads, training and development, including performance reviews.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payment runs and customer receipts.
  • Monitoring aged debt and supporting credit control activities.
  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and monitoring cash balances.
  • Preparing accruals and prepayments.
  • Supporting month-end close activities and ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
  • Managing expense claims and raising sundry invoices.
  • Working closely with banking partners and maintaining banking access and controls.
  • Driving continuous improvements across finance processes and internal controls.

About You

To be considered you will ideally have:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years’ experience within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or a broader transactional finance role.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a small finance team.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems (SAP or similar ERP experience would be advantageous).
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and solve problems.
